  ভারতশাসিত কাশ্মীরের পহেলগামে বন্দুকধারীদের হামলার পরে যেসব অস্থিরতা তৈরি হয়েছে এর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য একটি বিষয় হলো, গত কয়েকদিনে ভারতের নানা জায়গায় কাশ্মীরি মানুষদের হেনস্তা, মারধর এমনকি হত্যার হুমকি দেওয়ারও খবর এসেছে। এ ধরনের হেনস্তা ও হুমকির মুখে পড়তে হচ্ছে মূলত কাশ্মীরি ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের যারা অন্যান্য রাজ্যে পড়াশোনা করছেন। সামাজিক মাধ্যমগুলোতেও কাশ্মীরিদের নিয়ে আপত্তিকর মন্তব্য করা হচ্ছে। হেনস্তার ভয়ে অনেক কাশ্মীরি ছাত্র-ছাত্রী গত কয়েকদিন ধরে ঘরবন্দি হয়ে রয়েছেন বলে বিবিসি বাংলাকে জানিয়েছে কাশ্মীরি ছাত্রদের একটি সর্বভারতীয় সংগঠন। একই সঙ্গে মুসলমান-বিরোধী ঘৃণাও ছড়ানো হচ্ছে সামাজিক এবং গণমাধ্যমে।
